Please read these rules before posting on a role-play thread!
If you want to create your own pack, read these guidelines
Creating a character (only required for virusRISING RP)
Before role-playing in the virusRISING-based board, you must create a thread in the Character Tryout board using the guidelines.
For your tryout, title your thread as your character's name - gender. Example: Risk - Male
A moderator will view your thread and either accept or deny your character. Write WIP (work in progress) in your title if your tryout is not complete.
You cannot create a character related to a canon character. Such as your character being Seir's long lost sister etc. You also may not make a character as being the mate of a canon character.
Please no full-wolf characters. Wolfdogs are fine (although too many is unrealistic).
Characters other than dogs are fine, as long as it makes sense that they would be found in the area you plan on role-playing them in. For instance, it would not make sense to have a bear character in the city. Cats, rats, and birds are most common in the city. As for the lake area, smaller wild animals are fine such as foxes or rabbits.
No unexplained accessories. Collars, scarves, etc are fine on dogs who have owners or previously did.
Realistic fur colors only. Unusual markings are fine. Unusual eye colors are fine.
All images used in your character's bio must either be your own, or used with permission.
Your character must be accepted before you can start role-playing with it.
You may create your own pack outside of Katzbalger's and Risk's. Mooli's pack is not accepting new members.
No infected dogs may join Risk's pack. They can either be a part of Katzbalger's or be rogue.
You are limited to having one immune character. Immunity to the virus is supposed to be somewhat of a rare thing, so keep that in mind please!

Tips for making an Infected dog character:
A dog becomes infected by the virus when it is bitten by an already-infected dog.
The first symptoms include vomiting, confusion, and nausea. Within a few hours the infected dog's eyes start to change to black and yellow, their gums turn black, and their tongue turns white.
The virus slowly eats away at the brain of its host, so infected dogs tend to be unpredictable and aggressive. They often attack and kill fellow infected dogs without warning.
*Small animals die quickly after becoming infected. The virus requires a strong host, so large dogs are likely to live longer (though eventually the virus will kill them too. This does not mean you have to kill off your infected dog character if you don't want to.)
*By small animals I mean anything about the size of an adult Beagle or smaller. Animals that are small in size but have strong muscular bodies may be an exception.
Because the virus messes with the host's brain, infected dogs often feel a false sense of invincibility. In later stages of the infection, the infected dog may even lose the ability to feel pain all together. That just means that they could get their leg ripped off and still think they're fine enough to fight.
Non-virusRISING role-play rules
You are not required to have your character accepted by a mod first before using it in a non-vR role-play.
Animals only. No humans that can morph into animals, no humans with animal ears etc. (If the main plot requires some human interaction, you may use a human character as long as you also use an animal.)
Pokemon and mythical-creature RP is fine.
When creating a RP thread, include the general idea in the title. Ex: "Wild Horse Role-play"
General role-play rules
Anyone may claim a virusRISING character at the start of a roleplay. No one user can reserve a character only for themselves.
Keep out-of-character comments to a minimum. No OOC-only posts.
When creating a new role-play thread, please specify the RP's level of formality either in the title or first post. A formal role-play involves each in-character post to be a minimum of 120 words and a more sophisticated writing style. A semi-formal role-play would have a minimum of 50 words in each post. A casual role-play may be best for beginners, with no minimum word requirement and a laid-back writing style.
No god-modding or powerplaying. Do not kill others' characters without their consent.
Keep your actions as realistic as possible. Some exceptions include ninja-like fighting styles similar to Jun's (jumping off of walls, single back-flips). No magic or anything similar allowed.
Do not imply graphic situations. This includes mating being overly descriptive, and over-the-top gore.
There are no set seasons or timelines. They may be decided when the role-play starts. Likewise, you are not required to only role-play in the time-frame the comic is currently in.
