Shadow didn't really listen to the female's words... Most of the infected had the same words in their mouth, their truth, their gift, their superiority, their invincibility even... Such lies told by the virus in their rotten brain. Although his smirk widened while the female was trying to justify her rotting kind. "So i can call it rotting? What to call it then? Corrupted, decayed, decomposed? Putrefied maybe?" he said with his cold detached tone. His throat was beginning to hurt, but he showed nothing, either to the infected or to Jato.
He stopped there talking, as the female was growing angrier and angrier. He braced himself as she was attacking, ready to receive her, but at the last moment, she twisted towards Jato, surprising Shadow. She seemed to be conscious of the first attacks, but after a while, her attacks turned out being repetitive, mechanical, and the look into her yellow glowing eyes and her behaviour were letting no doubt: the virus was controlling her -possessing her even-. That wasn't making her less dangerous although, just more predictable. Shadow would have attacked her by now, but locked behind Jato in the corridor, there weren't many things he could do. Seeing the wounds that the female had inflicted to Jato, Shadow was wondering how it would affected the white dog. Of course it would directly kill him, but... what if he wasn't immune? Shadow decided to banish this thought.
He glanced back as Jato gave him an unsure look, silently approving what he was doing with a slight nod. He readied himself again. Jato had lowered his body, almost lying down, and as the infected female came to him once again, he suddenly got up, throwing a shoulder into his chest and head, kicking her away by few steps. That was what Shadow was waiting, and even before the female could get up, he was jumping over Jato's back, aiming at her side, slamming her and continuing to run till the end of the corridor. He was waiting for her to eventually get up, or to retreat by the only possible way, the room's door. But if she was wanting to continue the fight, she had a dog in front of her, and one behind. Attacks would come from two sides now, and if she was smart enough -or if the virus was, even- she would do the right thing to survive. If not...

Amor received the hits with uninterrupted cackles. Her yellow eyes glowing vibrantly with amusement. She felt no pain, how could she? She was a higher being. Her body bent with the force of the much larger canine ramming her down the hall. She felt a snap in her side and a steady flow of blood trickling from her side. Her muzzle curled further toward her eyes. As soon as the borzoi was done her gift added by her blessed disease of a mind malfunction continued. She hopped to her feet once more in one lithe movement. Blood trickled harder from her side. Amor was too far gone to do damage control but as her side seemed a more lenient there was probably a cracked rib.
And she dove. Her fangs seeking the flesh of one of the two heated bodies near her, ready to rip and slash. Her meager body threw itself at her victims. Her mind was somewhere far gone and instinct got the best of her. Her attacks moved abruptly, counting on strength she didn't have. Her movements were jerky as her body protested against each jerky movement and rebuff. Her face shot out at Jato once more, eyes open wide and unseeing. Her paws sent her involuntarily flying foreword, neck craning to make a straightforward move at the larger canine's throat. Her body was tensed before the fae even got close, awaiting the blow from the larger jaws and paws awaiting her.
With a metallic clip, jaws meeting one another, flesh or fur, the infected turned on her heel. Her front flying upward and rearing up. Her paws came down, followed by her relentless jaws. Her posture and actions forcing the fae to believe she was larger than she actually was. Snarls ripped from her throat as what little sanity she had left slowly seeped in. The black and red haze that clouded the fore front of her mind was slowly pulling away. Her snarl faded for an instant and the 4 seconds of confusion appeared on her face.
Then Amor dove in with less vigor, her paws involuntarily moved towards the escape whilst her neck adn fangs darted out for the hopeless fight. Sanity was her greatest enemy at that one point, and the unreasonable panic began to set in.
"Aww boys, I'm having so much fun getting warmed up!" She cooed. Bluff, complete bluff. A growl and a whimper were rising in her throat and her airways were constricted as she fought to keep the latter inside her abdomen. Another involuntary step back.

Action Thinking "Speaking." The white male shot the borzoi a look of uncertainty. Sure she was much smaller than him in size and stature, she might not do too much damage but anything could happen, she was obviously deranged. Maybe a fall of a table, a swift dodge and he might slam into something, hooking those sharp fangs in an eye... That is, if she knew what she was even doing in her maniacal state of mind. This 'virus' was most certainly a dangerous thing that very much needed to be avoided, he made a note of this in the back of his mind and turned his attention back on the rotting female. He had no choice now, he had to leave this place. There was no doubt about it, he would have to leave this mansion sooner rather than later.
Lowering himself, Jato changed into a 'bowing' sort of position, head low against the ground and muscles tense, ready to spring forward and up. He found it much more effective to fight when his centre of gravity was lower than his opponent's using his heavy size to his advantage. No sooner had he prepared himself did the female attack once more, same unpredictable jaw snapping and teeth clipping fur if he didn't dodge fast enough. The key to dodging was not to move too much, he knew that much from the many times he had attempted to dodge an oncoming alcoholic beverage. If there was one thing he noticed though, she seemed to be grasping back some of her sanity and common sense. It wasn't the pain, no there was no way an animal like this felt pain but for whatever reason her movements were less... Random. She really was (seemingly) aiming for his throat this time around. He countered this by keeping his neck low, backing away from the crazed female. The white dog wanted to run, he really did. The look in her eyes was enough to scare him, let alone the fact that she was hell bent on meeting flesh.
As she reared up on her back paws, Jato found himself unable to move back any further, he was now facing the female low, side on and cropped ears pinned flat against his head. In this stance the mixed breed female's stomachs and neck were exposed, he only had a second to act as her paws and fangs came crashing down. Any normal dog would've brought their canines up to grab at her throat. Jato of course wasn't a normal dog and thought far too long about his attack. Her claws swiped the edge of his muzzle and as a reaction to the pain he threw his head upwards.
The intensity of her attack seemed to waver. As Jato threw his skull upwards he had expected a painful jolt when he collided with her lower jaw. Instead he met air and before long realised there were no longer fangs ripping apart his already scarred coat. The infected had darted away somewhat and to a safer distance. Jato stood, watching her silently with his red eyes and twitching and shaking a little. He took a small step back (not that it was much of a step, he was backed up against a wall by now) and drew back his lips although no growl escaped his throat. She knew which of the two males was the weaker one and she used that to her advantage. But... Surely she'd run off now? Escape was easy enough, there was no point risking her life any further and even if she felt no pain surely she could smell the blood. Then again, what did he know. He wasn't an Infected and had no idea what was going through those rotting minds. Blood... Don't think too much about that you idiot. Concentrate, she'll kill you if you don't. The Ovcharka ignored the pain that dripped from his coat. That was something he could worry about later. If there was a later.
((All this time and I couldn't even make a decent post that made sense -sigh-))

From where he was, Shadow caught the uncertain look Jato gave him, like he wasn't so sure if it was the right thing to do. But when confronted to an infected in such a state of mind, even if the infected wasn't big he could deal irreversible damages if he's attack a vulnerable dog. And Shadow still wasn't sure about what Jato could be. Immune... vulnerable... he'll discover that at some point. He gave the white giant dog a ensured look, slightly nodding, almost imperceptibly. But he was sure Jato had catch it before the infected fae came back to attack. She attacked Jato fiercely, thinking if even one would call her still able to think with good reason that Jato represented the weakest of the two dogs. Weak he wasn't, physically. But between the sudden changes that had just happened, and a who knew how long mistreatment period had apparently made him fearful and doubting.
Unfortunately, for now Shadow had no time to talk, and Jato not much to listen, as the infected had aimed for a serial of mindless attacks, like if only the virus was controlling her. And that was surly the case. She aimed at Jato several times, making him stepping back against a wall, but her movements were curiously jerky, as if the virus had problems synchronizing her body. However, after some time acting like a mad and mindless being, her sanity, or at least the few left of it, came back in her head. Shadow listened at her as she began to talk again, stating that she was having so much fun with them. Such a lie, and Shadow wasn't dupe about that. "You should flee while you still can, cursed one." His dry and scattered voice rang around the room where they were now fighting, close to emotionless, but no-one could miss the strong warning inside.
Then he began to walk in a circle around her, coming nearer to Jato. And suddenly, with no warning at all, he jumped at her before she could even react, twice, aiming at her muzzle and her front paws, giving a superficial bite the first time, but a deeper one the second time on her left foreleg. Then he stepped back, out of the fae's bite range, and began to aim for an other attack. But it was a fake one, destined to startle her. He gave an other look at Jato, trying to estimate how the giant dog was. He had several bites and other injuries, but none of them were really disturbing. He would be ok for still quite a time. As suddenly as before, Shadow aimed again at the infected. She was a bit further now, but instead of trying to bite her, Shadow put all his strength and weight to push her away, hitting her on her side with an impressive speed. Afterwards he shocked his head, a bit stunned by the shock in return. And he stepped back. If the infected female wanted to flee, it was the moment, if even she could. But Shadow wouldn't let her continuing having fun with them, or rather mostly with Jato. The way downstairs to leave the house was clear. and Shadow had nothing against letting her flee if that was her next move. If not, if she would aim at them again, she'd end up lying there. Definitely. Even if that was pitiful, and after all not even her fault...

Amor continued her rampage her teeth biting into her own flesh as frustration, confusion, and stress began to pile up in her mind, coiling her back into an arch and flattening into a straight line once more. Her body moved as if she wanted to convulse and after a few attacks from both male dogs the two's efforts were rewarded with a splutter of ghastly blood accompanied by a malignant, chiding laugh. She lashed out more at the borzoi as he moved closer to the white dog, a grimace spreading slowly across her features.
This wasn't supposed to be happening. She won, always won. Her lip curled back and a liquid growl erupted from her throat with more blood. Blood. Pouring from all sides. Her foreleg with its new deep gash, her side heaving the not so red liquid. Her stance gave no indication this ailed her. She'd look strong if it wasn't for the small pool forming. Even then the virus would make her look ghastly and contorted. Her teeth appeared slightly red her tongue flicking with the tinge of red. She'd have to give up, though she might be joined soon.
"Sure I'll run, it's what I'm best at!" She roared taking a lurch forward, head down tongue lolling out. "Bit I tell you what, kill the white one. He might just be coming with me soon, might as well not get the chance. He's a fearful-" a cough interrupted her and her body convulsed once more, "a pup, a weakling now. But when the virus takes over." She gave a wink her body slinking farther away, her rear leg taking the first step down the stairs.
"But he might just be a keeper later." With that her multicolored form receded, a trail of blood following each step as her body protested against her mind with every leap of her iron stride. A black shadow disappearing down the street, a trail of blood leading a way to sure death.
((With that Amor is out xD ))

Action Thinking "Speaking." The mixed breed female's stance was strong and firm despite the litres of blood pouring from her open wounds. The smooth laughter that erupted from her long muzzle made the white male cringe, the maniacal cackle echoing off the walls of the otherwise lifeless house. The Ovtcharka's gaze was unwavering, eyes never leaving the dangerous dog for a fraction of a second, honing in on her unpredictable movement and (hopefully) ready for her next series of sporadic attacks. Sooner or later she'd seriously hurt one of them with those fangs, and it was quite obvious he would come out worse of the two. This entire time he had avoided using his bone crushing teeth, he chose to dodge rather than attack and his flight instincts were still strong and overpowering any voice screaming at him to rip his teeth through her oesophagus. Jato still stood with his teeth bared but still no growl came from his throat, for whatever reason he couldn't conjure up a noise without making it sound pitiful. His ears swiveled forward as she spoke, pinning back for a second when she lurched forward before pricking forwards again. In all honesty, he really didn't understand what she was saying. Was this virus talk? 'Coming with her'? Why would he do that?
There was a short silence after the female left, the large dog still trying to understand what just happened. His head turned to the light grey borzoi, not quite sure what to say at first and his mind attempting to form some type of comprehensible sentence. After awhile, he finally spoke.
"Wh... What did she mean by that last part?..." he asked. Was there something he missed? Was the virus maybe... Wait, was it? The virus was a disease maybe it's...
"Do you... Think she'll be alright?" he added, shutting the other thought out of his kind. He was truly concerned though. She terrified him, yes, but he didn't wish death on anyone. But those injuries were far from minor. Jato took a few steps towards Shadow, feathered tail flicking from side to side as he waited for the borzoi's answer.

The infected female tried to attack few more times, without much success, before retreating. Apparently she -or maybe the virus- had realized it was a lost fight. Still, Shadow stayed cautious and threatening, his features moderately high in an aggressive posture. If he had heard the fae's words, he didn't show a sign about it, only waiting for the infected to finally disappear. Her words weren't entirely wrong, he had to admit. Unfortunately. But on the other hand, nothing was sure anymore in this cursed town. Jato could be vulnerable to the virus, and if so Shadow would have a hard choice to make. A dog that big, even fearful for now, would turn into a great threat if he'd become infected. But there was a chance, even slight, he was immune, and Shadow wouldn't try to kill him as long as he wasn't sure.
He heard Jato's unsure voice through his thoughts and snorted, slowly calming down from the fight. "She'll eventually die somewhere... That's the infected's way to live... and to die", he stated. He would've thought that she'd be alright and wouldn't attack anyone else after that, but telling so would've been nothing but a lie. She wouldn't had been the first dog the light grey borzoi had killed, and surly not the last one either. He wasn't enjoying it, but that was a necessity. Them, or him. And he'd rather prefer to live, even if it meant he had to take away some lives.
Also, he would have prefered that Jato never asked what the infected had meant by her last part. But the question wasn't surprising, from a dog who even barely know anything about the outside world. Shadow prefered to be frank with the white dog. A lie now wouldn't make the things better, if Jato wasn't immune. "What she meant if i'd better kill you here and now if i'd know what was the best for me. Soon you might become like her, a monster led by the virus and your lower instincts..." His voice was low, quiet even, at a point it was more of a mutter than anything else. He started to inspect Jato's injuries. Most weren't big and shouldn't bother for long. He started to lick and clean the wound the infected had gave Jato on his muzzle, his eyes drowning in Jato's blood red eyes. There was something into these, something Shadow appreciated. "Or maybe you are immune to its effects... Only the future will tell us. We'd better be leaving now, the place isn't sure anymore." However, Shadow waited for Jato to decide what he would do. Whatever his master had done to him, it was still his house, and leaving the place he'd always lived in would be a great change. He continued licking his wounds, and thinking to the fascinating red eyes.

((Gah! I completely forgot about this >.< Umm... Better late than never? I'm so sorry Shadow DX))
Action Thinking "Speaking."
There was a seemingly long silence as Jato listened to the light grey male's words; seconds seemed to roll into hours as the white dog attempted to process everything that had happened just then. The deranged attack of the Infected stray female, his first bit of contact with another friendly creature in a very long time and the death of his master, the woman that he would've loyally followed to the ends of the burning earth for the sole reason of canine loyalty; his kind's primordial instinct to be drawn to human kind and to work alongside them. But then again, between his master and himself, which of the two was keeping their end of the bargain that had been forged between man and dog since the beginning of their domestication?
When Shadow finished speaking, the Ovtcharka simply stared back at the borzoi with his dark red eyes. His short cropped ears had remained pricking forwards this whole time but now they slowly relaxed back against his head as the large male breathed a heavy sigh... Of relief. His feathery tail began to slowly sway from side to side as he raised his muzzle slightly and gave the grey male a small smile.
"Is that all? That's a relief! I thought she was coming back for a second round with her friends or something... But I guess if that's all... Then you don't have anything to worry about," Jato finally replied, his voice and tone almost on the verge of sing-songy. Of all the things Jato feared- failure, disappointment, Infecteds, most other dogs, heavy raised objects, fire, water, heights, loud noises... The one thing he did not fear was death. The giant white Central Asian Ovtcharka had accepted his inevitable fate long ago. Jato had been destined to die alone on the end of a rusted chain on a freezing cold night, just about forgotten by the one person he lived for. But he had long ago accepted this fate and engraved it into his mind. However, he never predicted what would happen in a single day. He had made his first acquaintance, no... A friend. And he was more than happy to die by his jaws then to freeze to death in the frigid cold.
"Sh, Shadow... Of we do resort to that, I'd I am indeed Infected... I have no objections to dying by your fangs. Although... I hope it's not too much to ask if you could make it swift?" It was a rather grim request but Jato did it with his best smile on his face. He hadn't smiled in so long. Truly smiled, not the ones he used to greet his master after a long day out shopping for clothes.

((No worries, i'm patient xD And i knew you and my prefered char would eventually come back c: ))
"I doubt she will ever come back from the place she'll lie down at. That's all then... Till the next infected who will come around. A house smelling of blood isn't safe," he quietly said as he watched at Jato calming down from his emotions. The light grey borzoi's voice was turning out more and more raspy, consequence of an injury got a long time ago. He then remained silent, listening to the red eyed male's sing-songy voice. Althought he was pretty taken aback when Jato asked him to kill him if the white giant would turn out being infected. But he didn't show much of what he was feeling. Only his darkening glaze would have given an indication of his thoughts. He had already killed more members of his kind than he'd have liked to. And it was even harder in the present situation...
Shadow stayed silent for what seemed to be hours, starring intensely at the dark red eyes, seeing Jato's smile. For the first time, he feared that another dog would turn out infected -that Jato would turn out infected-. Slowly he stepped towards the white dog, to the point the two dogs' noses slightly bumped against the other. And he continued, his head going across Jato's shoulders, and surely Jato's head was doing the same above his own shoulders. He finally stopped, still silent, thinking at what to say -or rather, how to say it-. "I've killed enough to know how to make it swift," he muttered. His raspy voice sounded even weirder to his ears, squeezed by an untold and strange feeling. "But i hope, i'd love, not to have to come to it... If it doesn't withing the few next days, then a new life will begin for you." He slowly stepped back a little, a shy smile on his face like if he wasn't used to, and slightly gave Jato's nose a lick, before drowning again in the red eyes.

Action Thinking "Speaking."
The massive dog looked down slightly, tail low and swaying casually from side to side and stirring up a small whirlwind of dust. He remained submissive as ever, his current demeanor was not one that would be easily changed, but his stance indicated he was slightly more confident. Not by a huge margin but confidence nonetheless. His large paws shuffled back almost in unison with the borzoi, watching the dog for a moment before turning his head towards the door.
"A new life..." Jato repeated the words outloud and in his mind. He had no idea whether to look forward to or dread the outside life. Outside there were other humans, other creatures other dogs. Dogs like Shadow. And dogs like the Infected female. His gaze began to circle the room, taking in the blood and memories. He remembered when he was allowed inside, when he barely reached his master's knees and she could pick him up by the scruff and gloat about her rare pet. When he got too big and started shedding quite a bit (from a lack of nutrition or just because he was big, one or the other) he was cast out to his current and what he figured would be his final home.
"If I am immune... You think there's a place for me out there?" It was a fairly open question. He was naive to the ways of the world but the male felt a little more secure around Shadow. Sure, he's only known the borzoi for a day but the light grey dog was also the only other form of canine life he'd ever truly gotten close to and already he was looking up to the older dog (figuratively speaking) as an elder brother of sorts.
Jato turned to head towards the door, looking back and waiting for Shadow to lead the way. His red eyed gaze once again drifting from dog to door, avoiding the blood droplets that dotted the walls and floors. The image of the room was already burned into his mind, there was no need to look again.

"Of course there's a place for you out there,"Shadow said to Jato. He was about to add something, but got interrupted by a sudden and harsh and dry cough. He knew, from his more and more irritated throat, that it would come sooner or later -and he was even half-surprised it hadn't come before this moment-. The slender borzoi saw that Jato was waiting for him to lead them outside the home, far from the the remains of the battle and the vision of the wrecked body inside the room. But instead of heading towards the entrance door, Shadow made a detour by the kitchen, hoping for some water. He let a small sight of relief seeing that the tap was a mixer one, which would allow him to open, but also to shut it after he would be done. His size was allowing him to reach the tap, and he drank slowly, delighting the taste of the fresh water flowing into his throat.
Finally he was done and, his muzzle still dropping water around, he headed towards the entrance, and from there outside. The afternoon was lazily coming to an end, and the sun was already low on the horizon. Shadow waited for Jato to come, and when he talked his voice was a bit clearer than before. "You'll have a lot to learn about the outside world, but it worth it. Now we better find a place to spend the night, preferably not in this area," he told the big white male. The fence, well pruned, wasn't high, and Jato would hopefully have no troubles jumping above. For Shadow, it was even easier, since even a few feet tall fence wouldn't stop him. He looked at Jato, before taking his run-up and pretty gracefully jumped above the fence without even touching it. He landed on the other side, in the still desert street, and awaited for Jato to come. He didn't really have any idea about anywhere safe they could go for the night, but he would eventually find out.

Action Thinking "Speaking."
The white furred Ovtcharka followed behind the light grey borzoi like... Well a giant puppy. When he heard the dry cough escape the other male's throat his small triangles for ears flattened back against his skull with worry and he decided it was probably best not to bother the older dog with anymore of his (most likely then not) irrelevant questions. There was no need, hed learn soon enough. Asking about why Shadow's voice became the way it was was another thing he figured was not important; what happened in Shadow's past was none of his business and presumably wouldn't affect the present. Presumably.
Jato waited patiently in the doorway of the kitchen as Shadow lapped up water from the sink. In the past he would've cringed at the thought of doing that very same action. Or rather the consequences of doing just that. And now though? ... Despite what logic preached his body refused to take another step to avoid being barraged by flying pots and pans. He knew it wouldn't happen but the back of his mind said 'just in case'.
Jato shuffled out of the way as Shadow padded towards the entrance. He followed close behind, weaving around the trail of water (he wasn't fond of getting his paws even slightly wet), and the two eventually reached the hedge separating the property from the street. The white dog nodded in response to the borzoi's statement before watching silently as the sighthound easily scaled the low hedge. As always, Jato hesitated. He could make the jump, he wasn't worried about that, but anxiety still lingered in his racing mind. Needless to say, the 'ferocious' livestock guardian was having a miniature panic attack, he paced a short ways in an attempt to gather up what courage he had left.
Jato eventually managed to garner up what confidence remained into one single, awkward leap. Heavily furred paws came smashing down on the concrete pathway before gluing themselves to the floor. His heavy head lowered slightly, his body wanting to shift into a more comfortable stance but his feet denied him this privilege. As the adrenaline pumped through his body he nearly considered throwing himself back over the fence before a thought hit him. The grass... Really is greener on the other side. He never really noticed just how far the road traveled until now, just how big his neighborhood really was. And an even better question yet, how immense was the rest of the world? Taking a few more tentative steps towards Shadow, Jato came up beside him, body still anxious and unsure but by now he was brimming with curiosity.

Shadow awaited for Jato to come, to jump to the other side of the fence, to make the last step towards his freedom, as short or long it would be. Finally the white Ovtcharka jumped, landing on the pavement some steps from Shadow. He stayed still, letting Jato discovering his surroundings, while himself was listening at any unusual noises. Hopefully there was none, and Jato soon took few more not so reassured steps towards him. After having taken a glance around the street, Shadow looked at Jato, at his ruby tainted eyes. "So, how is it to put a paw in the big outside?" he asked the younger male, a bit teasingly. These eyes... Shadow shook his head: it wasn't the right time to think about it. But about the possibilities they had. The sun was already low on the town, and venturing through it wasn't much an eventuality for now. Of course he wouldn't have had much of a problem if he'd been alone. But he wasn't. In the distant some barks echoed... It was time to leave, at least to leave this street. They've been there for long enough already.
Shadow licked Jato's nose once again, then turned towards the hills, pretty far outside the town, his fur slightly bristling against the white dog's. "We'd better be moving, nights aren't much welcoming around there," he quietly told, his voice sounding a bit less raspy thanks to the water he had drank. He made few steps onward, before stopping to check if Jato would follow him, his tail slightly waving. "Don't be afraid," he added with a hint of a -for once kind of shy- smile. His choice was made now. "We'll go towards the hills, it's the safest. I'll try to answer the questions you surly have on the way."
(I apologize for the time it took, and for the shortness of the post x.x)
